REDEVELOPMENT OF A HISTORICAL MILITARY SITE

Led by main contractor Glas Civil Engineering, the redevelopment includes a new civic plaza, regional sports hub, pedestrian walkways, cycle tracks, and expansive landscaped zones with integrated lighting and planting. Pop Up Power Supplies® were appointed to provide a practical, safe, and discreet outdoor power solution for the new pedestrian-focused public realm.

We supplied six PUPS04 Retractable power units, each equipped with 2 x 32A single-phase sockets and 6 x 16A single-phase sockets, delivering a total power capacity of 63 amps via single or three-phase incoming supply. These versatile units are designed to provide not only electricity but also accommodate telecom connections if required, offering a future-proofed utility solution for flexible public use. The chosen power units were manually operated pop up models, constructed from high-grade mild steel and hot-dip galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461 standards for long-term corrosion resistance. Each unit is tested to FACTA Class B loading, ensuring reliable performance in busy public environments. Their recessed covers were infilled to perfectly match the surrounding paving, preserving the clean, contemporary aesthetic of the new civic space. The result is a seamless blend of modern infrastructure with heritage-conscious design, providing a safe, silent and secure source of power that can be easily accessed or concealed as needed.
