THE PROJECT
Pop Up Power Supplies were obviously delighted to be asked to install nine retractable service power units at Chelsea Football Club. The half ton units were required for the stadium area at the club and were safely buried out of sight beneath the perimeter of the pitch. When required each unit can be cleverly raised out of the ground for maintenance.
A PERFECT MATCH
The units chosen were In-ground power units. Manufactured in high grade mild steel and hot dipped galvanised to BS EN:ISO1461. Each unit is tested infilled to FACTA Class B loadings. The cover of each unit was neatly recessed and featured the exact turf to match perfectly with the surrounding pitch.
The Technical Services Team required a power source to allow the ground staff to power their specialist hydroponic equipment that is used to nurture the growth of the grass. The units also provide electricity for the specialist UV lighting equipment. Our Pop Up Power retractable units were the perfect solution. The cabling was provided by YESS.
When needed the Chelsea ground staff now have access to multiple 63A and 32A TPN waterproof power feeds. Both the cabling and power units were installed and commissioned by Springfield Engineers over a 6 week time frame. Pop Up Power can also supply electricity using Power Bollards in a variety of designs to suit the surroundings.
