FLYBOX

Built into the Ground, Built for the Job
Indoor commercial environments such as busy city centre pubs and live music venues to prestige car showrooms and exhibition spaces are under increasing pressure to deliver exceptional experiences. Flexible layouts, temporary installations, seasonal displays and live events have become a standard part of how these spaces operate and compete. What has not always kept pace is the electrical infrastructure needed to support them.
The traditional solutions are familiar and flawed. Extension leads and surface cabling create trip hazards look untidy. Temporary distribution boards interrupt the flow of a carefully considered interior. Generators are simply not an option indoors. For venue managers and interior designers working hard to create seamless, high-quality environments, the compromise between functionality and appearance has long been an unnecessary frustration.
The PUPS FlyBox offers a different approach entirely. It is a compact, fully flush In-ground power unit, the FlyBox is installed level with the floor and remains completely hidden when not in use. When power is needed, the lid opens to reveal a retractable fly lead that can be extended to wherever a socket is required — then retracts just as simply when the job is done. The lid closes. The floor is restored. The space is totally uninterrupted.
Constructed entirely from AISI304 stainless steel with an almond finish cover, the FlyBox is built to withstand the demands of high footfall commercial environments. Its IP67 rated sockets provide robust protection, and the unit operates across both 230V and 400V supplies at frequencies from 50hz to 60hz, in compliance with EN 60947-1 and EN 61439. With a total incoming supply of 63 amps single or 3 phase, socket options include 2P+E 16A, 2P+E 32A, 3P+N+E 16A and 3P+N+E 32A configurations, making it adaptable to a wide range of equipment and operational requirements.
For a pub or hospitality venue, this means outdoor terraces and indoor event spaces can be powered cleanly and safely without trailing cables across floors. For a music venue, staging, lighting rigs and sound equipment can be connected directly from a fixed, managed supply positioned exactly where it is needed. For a car showroom, rotating displays, feature lighting and promotional installations can be powered discreetly without compromising the clean lines of the showroom floor.
The FlyBox is operated manually via a square key, with the closure secured by a stainless steel bronzed bayonet lock, which is simple, reliable and tamper resistant. Its compact dimensions of 120x120mm with a depth of 400mm make it straightforward to install within an existing floor build-up, with corrugated pipe accommodation for cable routing already accounted for in the unit's design.
For facilities managers, interior designers and fit-out contractors, the FlyBox resolves a long-standing tension between the operational demands of a working commercial space and the aesthetic standards that define it. Power where it is needed, invisible when it is not.
