At Pop Up Power, we love seeing talent and dedication in action—and Evie Mitchell is the perfect example! At just 14 years old, Evie has already shown incredible skill, determination, and a passion for Judo that’s taken her far beyond her age group.

Evie started Judo at the age of 4, introduced to the sport by her father, Gary Mitchell, who has been her trainer ever since. Over the years, she’s trained hard, competed fiercely, and even won gold in competitions above her age category.

When Pop Up Power heard about Evie’s ambition and dedication—and thanks to a friendship between families spanning over 20 years—they were thrilled to offer sponsorship to help Evie reach her full potential.

Judo is a dynamic martial art that combines strength, strategy, and discipline. Originating in Japan, it focuses on throws, holds, and grappling techniques, helping athletes develop both physical skill and mental resilience. Beyond competition, Judo teaches respect, focus, and perseverance—qualities that make champions like Evie Mitchell stand out both on and off the mat.

Since May, Pop Up Power’s support has made a huge difference: Evie has traveled over 10,000 miles for Judo, attending 8 training camps, 5 competitions (winning gold in each!), and visiting top-level clubs for extra training. She was also selected for the England Development Squad after becoming the English Closed Champion this year. These opportunities often involve overnight stays, fees, and travel expenses—and thanks to Pop Up Power, Evie has been able to make the most of every one.
