As we skip towards an optimistically covid free Christmas, it is not without a few burdens to carry on our shoulders. The energy crisis has affected many aspects of our lives and is set to continue throughout 2023. However in an effort to raise our spirits many towns and cities are planning their Christmas lighting and this is where Pop Up Power Supplies® can help! This is one time of year that without question we need POWER!

This year's Christmas displays will go ahead but for many it will be in a more sustainable way. The Christmas lights at Oxford Street have been cleverly designed to consume less energy. For example the well recognised Christmas Stars will consist of 300,000 LED’s which are made from recycled polymer. In addition to this design alteration the hours that the lights will be illuminated will be reduced. These measures alone will cut energy consumption by ⅔ compared to previous years. 

The lights are believed to be 75% more energy efficient than standard light bulbs.

For all Christmas set ups and local market places Pop Up Power Supplies® offers three different useful options that are made to order and configured for the site’s requirements. 

The retractable, pop-up power unit is submerged in the ground and raised only when it is required. After use, it is simply lowered back down and hidden away until it is next needed. Pop Up Units are manufactured in stainless steel AISI304 and have an epoxy-polyester powder finish. Most importantly, the “Pop Up” nature of the unit improves the quality and safety of the surrounding area as there are no trailing leads and obstructions. This is a discrete option that can be covered to match with paving or grass.

An In Ground unit is permanently submerged and accessed via a lockable flip-lid. It can also be used ‘locked down’ making it safe for continuous unattended use. In Ground or Flip Lid units provide round the clock power, they minimise the potential of vandalism and damage as there will be only a protruding cable. These units are perfect for small spaces and to provide an outdoor power supply for Christmas Lights. In ground units are virtually invisible as the recessed lid can be covered with a sample of the surrounding surface area.

The power bollard design provides a reliable and efficient outdoor power supply, in bollard format. The stainless steel bollards are elegantly designed as street furniture, and offer a permanent power supply for lighting, outdoor events, food stalls and Advent markets. The bollards are available in 4 configurations, Parc Paris Top, Domed, Sloping and Button.

A stainless steel bollard can provide between 220 and 400 volts and 125A of power. They are available with configurations to suit your particular needs and can be customised in any RAL colour.
